Ciirca 1853, Tanswell’s is Beechworth’s oldest surviving hotel; the licence dates back to 1851. Recently featured in Lee Mylne's book Great Australian Pubs her description of it being one of "the best places to stop for a drink, meal and accomodation" in Australia says it all.
